This evening I was browsing through our photos of Vietnam and realized I hadn't shared two of my favorite photos.
First, a gorgeous tile floor in the formal entryway of an old home in Hoi An:
Next, a photo of the teal and cream tile floor in a restaurant in Hoi An:
It sounds silly but there is something about that beautiful tile that makes me yearn to escape, live in a villa on the Vietnamese coast, and just cook, learn from local cooks, and cook some more. It's funny, because the pictures are not that great! But I see them ... and I remember the simple pleasures of that day, taking refuge from the heat in that colorful restaurant, as I sipped a cafe sua da with my new husband ... The ineffable joys of travel and memories, I suppose.

Cool! Tile reminds me of something turkish or middle eastern actually. For your future bathroom or something maybe.
