Things I learned this week

I had always heard that brioche makes the best french toast. I am pleased to confirm: it's true! This is just one of those things you need to learn for yourself.

  1. Make Rose Levy Berenbaum's brioche. (Not as easy as it sounds, unless you're me and your husband willingly does all the work.)
  2. Enjoy it toasted with scrambled eggs, or toasted and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar.
  3. When the brioche goes stale, slice and soak in a mixture of egg, milk, vanilla, and sugar.
  4. Fry in butter.
  5. Swoon.
