bonsoir mes amis

I really have been meaning to post lately. I wanted to tell you guys about my new favorite roasted chicken (sorry Marcella Hazan! our run was good while it lasted) and the tasty puffy tacos we ate in San Antonio. And I wanted to tell you about teaching my brother how to cook. Oh, and I discovered how wonderful, easy, and elegant game hens are. And I have found my definitive brownie recipe, which is no small thing.

Other things (as in unrelated to food) are happening as well, like planning the trip we're taking to Paris and Bretagne over our first wedding anniversary. The last time I was in France was July 2005. It's kind of hard to believe! Needless to say, I am very excited. Ever since we bought the tickets, I have been laying awake at night coming up with a list of things I want to do. OK, and maybe it's not correct to refer to this trip as "unrelated to food" -- we don't have our lodging booked but what I do have is a 5 page (and growing) list of epicurean to-do's.

Anyway, more to come later. Meanwhile, wishing you a great week and happy valentine's day! No special plans for us - we might make truffles and open a bottle of our wedding bubbly. Were I more ambitious, I'd be making these super girly felt hearts to send to my bestest gal pals. Via purl bee, which is an excellent website, by the way.

P.S. The other reason I haven't been posting is that I got kindofsortof addicted to Twitter. /confessional over/

As soon as I get an iphone or ipod touch (which i'm pretty sure has the internet) i will be all up on the twitter. even though i know my firm isn't watching, i try to stay away from the twitter and fb at work. and that's so cool you're going to france for your anniversary!

it's probably a good thing that you stay away from twitter at work, it's a terrible time waster ;) and i believe you are right about the touch - you can access wi-fi with it
