This past week has been terrible. In the span of 4 days, I had to say goodbye to my family, my dear friends in Alabama, and our friend Jyoti who moved away! I am so over goodbyes. I have also been stressing about a full afternoon of job interviews tomorrow.
During a much-needed Internet break, I came across the below photo. As soon as I saw it, I started dreaming of a carefree, end-of-summer shindig. I love the turquoise table runner and the pop of color from the red vase/flowers! Simple, a bit rustic, and pretty.
I can't help but think about Tex-Mex food. This sounds just about perfect: pitchers of puckery margaritas and maybe micheladas, warm and chewy corn tortillas, a few different homemade salsas and guacamole, a spicy corn and black bean salad, and platters of carnitas and grilled vegetables. Oh, and for dessert ... freshly churned Mexican vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce (spiked with a little chile?).
